CS Exclusive Interview With Upcoming New Producer RAZ PRO

by CS on Jun.23, 2009, under Upcoming New Artists

raz proAs we all know hip hop is getting more and more universal every day Raz Pro on the other hand is no stranger to the game this young producer is on the rise in the under ground uk hip hop scene with his sleeky neo upscale sound this young producer puts no limit to his success.

raz pro

raz pro

CS:let the people know your name and Where are you from, tell us about your self,

raz pro: My name is raz-pro (razorproductions). I’m from UK. I am a musician/producer/rapper/ (everything to do with music! lmao). I was born in Chatham, Kent, lived in London in my early years then moved to Luton. I’m currently producing on a MPC2000XL, and being a sample freak I rip samples from anywhere and everywhere. I play drums, bass, keys, and some stringed instruments, I teach myself and learn new things everyday. My click is called ARC feat me RAZ-PRO my lil brother G-KEYZ, WONDEZEE, MJAS, SAM WILLIAMS, LORD WILLIAMS. I also produce anyone that wants my beats “neo planets” one of my albums is just pure unsigned artists from over the globe from Germany to Cali! I also remix any acapellas I come across, currently working on a 2PAC remix album and i currently alot of material on the net.

cs: thats whats up how is is the hip hop scene out there in the uk and who are you affiliated with?

raz pro: The hip-hop scene in the UK is nuts… the real artists are tucked away on myspace. Its mad, I’ve come across ill spitters and producers on myspace that easily top anything commercial. My sound is a different hip-hop, its smooth, heavenly, nice and loving, kind of neo-soul, backpack. Not many people can except this, everyone is in to the commercial everyday hip-hop talking guns, money, women, drugs. We just talk life and everyday scenarios. We make real music with real sounds and words. We do this for love.

cs:how was it growing up in the uk?Raz pro

raz pro: Growing up in the UK is obviously all i’ve known like I think if I was in the states I would be hittin it so much harder on the music scene, more opportunity and more appreciation for the music. Uk is just… I dunno, its hard but at the same time its not. U have to get a job and grind but some people just live off the benefits. I have to work and grind, being broke is against my religion!! Lmao! Plus I provide for my woman and daughter.

cs:what are your current projects, and who are you working with?

razpro: I got a lot going on, like a big ass soup! Lots of ingredients in there.! Working on a 2PAC remix album, and a DREAMSBLEND.COM beat tape and another beat tape called “dilla in the mirror” all coming to mininova.org soon. Its crazy, I mean I see myself like a beat terminator, I can’t be stopped, I make beats everyday and have thousands of them. I have over 260 tracks on my myspace and 111 torrents online. Ill never stop putting out little projects!! Top raz-pro projects:- 1,ILL-USSTRATIONS 2,RECESSION HITZ 3,SCIENCE&WIZARDS 4,SOUL BROTHERS 5,THE LINK UP AND 6,SAMPLE HEAVEN. All avalible to download free from www.mininova.org

pete-rock-raz-pro

pete-rock-raz-pro

cs:As a producer who has influenced you in your work and who do you think you may resemble?

raz pro: JAY DEE AKA J-DILLA (JAMES YANCEY) R.I.P never ever forget him, he is the key!!!!!!!! I’ve shed tears listening to some of his beats! Google him if u don’t know!! And just sit back and take it all in.. seriously, the best producer of all time!! Search for my album “TO J-DILLA AKA JAY-DEE FROM RAZ-PRO” available to download free from www.mininova.org

cs:what do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years as a producer?

raz pro: Hopefully to be producing big artists and have 10,000 beats on the internet plus remixes beat tape videos/slideshows and live footage of the ARC playing cos we are a live hip-hop group. My lil brother and me jam so hard, growing up in church we analyzed the music from an early age and got addicted. We can’t read music but we have it in our minds. Hopefully would like to be doing shows and I hope to be selling a large collection of my beat loops to other producers.

cs:as a producer tell the people  how would you define your music as an producer?

razpro: I would try to define it in 10 words which would be… mellow, heavenly, smooth, ecstasy, climax, love, real, live, backpack, neo-soul.

cs:what made you pursue you career in hip hop?

razpro:Well I was actually going down the live route until WONDEZEE gave me a slum village CD say 5 years ago, and it blew me away, something was always missing from my music life, all commercial hip-hop was too predictable and I got bored of it fast, until I came across DILLA!! Lol that was it after that, I knew what I was capable of. I wanted and still want to be better, I know I wont but I have to set my standards high to achieve well and heart hittin beats. I get a lot of positive feed back on myspace and my torrents some have even compared me to dilla, which is quite good, but I’m not tryin to be like him. Dilla is a benchmark, I’ve used his inspiration as a kind of template. So yeah Dilla is the reason.

cs:Aside from music some of  your other intrest?

raz pro: I’m a qualified Carpenter and at the moment I’m working doing landscaping. I enjoy keeping fit, socializing with friends and family, my lovely daughter. I have to hit the clubs from time to time, I just love the bass from my car and clubs! I have to feel bass go thru me its mad its like a drug to me! I’m a fiend for bass!! lmao

cs: before we go what advice can you give inspiring producers out there?

razpro: just to keep producing don’t everstop. And never erase a beat if u don’t like it, someone else will. Every project u open is like a blank sketch and you are an artist-artists draw! U see me. Keep pumping and plugging it!! JHEEZE!!!

cs:how can people want to get ahold of you? is there any bodybody you wanna shout out before we go?

raz pro: LINKS- WWW.MYSPACE.COM/RAZPRO>>WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/RAZPRO>>WWW.IMEEM.COM/RAZ-PRO>>EMAIL>>RAZORPRODUCTIONS2006@HOTMAIL.COM

cs:once again thanks for linking up with dreamsblend.com

razpro: Thanks to god, thanks to all friends and family that support my music its all for the love, thanks to DREAMSBLEND and look out for the exclusive “deramsblend.com” album produced by me raz-pro coming soon to mininova.org and hopefully DREAMSBLEND.COM too. CS exclusive Spot light interveiw with new upcoming producer:MG The Future!

by CS on Jun.08, 2009, under Upcoming New Artists

MG

MG

As an artist or producer,or what ever your nich may be every day is a hustle! we all do what we gotta do to survive in what were passinate about, well MG on the other hand new jersey born, north carolina resident, is on his way on becoming one of the newest producers to hit scene,we talk with him as we way in about who he his and his current spotlight!

MG

MG

CS:whats going on fam  let the people know your name and where you from:

MG the future: I go by MG, I’m from New Jersey, but I’m currently been
holding it down in Raleigh, North Carolina. Better known as Ruff
Raleigh or the City Of Hate.

CS:I all ready know what it is! but tell the people that dont know who
you  are and what it  is that you do!

MG: I’m an artist at heart. I produce songs, make beats, engineer
tracks, web design, computer programming, you name it. Pretty much
everything it takes to be an independent entertainment label, I have
my hands in. I’ve been producing strong since 2003. Been posting and
shopping beats online since then. Recently in 2007, I won Lil Wayne’s
Making The Next hit contest that came to my region. That inspired me
to take on new challenges. I currently produce for local artists in
hopes to make more buzz for myself and those who are riding with me.

CS: That’s what it is man,oh and by the way, what artist have you
worked with that you have  sold your beats to ?

MG: I work with anyone willing to work. In my city it’s all about
giving a hand to anyone willing to work and go hard. So I offer free
beats
and studio time to the people who I feel are particularly
talented. So far I’ve worked with atleast 20 individuals in raleigh
alone. Online is a bit different. Whomever comes across my music on
the web and is willing to buy, i sell to. I get alot of love from
California and Georgia with that. Right now I’m currently working on
projects with locals Supa Dame and Rio Blaze. Looking forward to
wrapping this project up and giving the city what it needs right about
now.

CS:how much do you make? selling your beats per week?

mg:
A good week for me would be about 500$. It Varies for me. If my focus
is to push a particular instrumental for sale it can happen in as
little as 2 days and as long as 2 weeks. Most of the time I try to get
my tracks to artists I’m working with at the time. And in that case, I
typically only charge for studio time.

CS:how would you describe your sound of music that you produce?

MG: Inspiring. I do my best to craft instrumentals that inspire an
artist to write their best verse. A lot of my music is very moody and
brings out the realness of an artist. Whenever I work with an artist
in person, I like to get their opinion on what sounds and styles they
prefer. Then I mix and match that into what I do. Comes out great. I
think I have a good ear for picking out the best sound for a
particular concept an artist may have.

CS:what are your influencese as an producer and why?

MG: When I started, it was the greats in the industry. Ranging from
Timbaland to Dr. Dre, Ryan Leslie to Scott Storch. Right now, It’s the
cats who I actually have access to. That I’ve been able to watch
develop over the years that I’ve been doing it. Such as I.N.F.O of
blownup records, Soleternity, Showdown, and many others. You rarely
get a chance to see a star born. But with these guys, I’ve kept up
with them since day one. Posting on the same sites as me and
exchanging reviews. Now they have moved up closer to their dreams and
dealing with the “industry” as it comes their way. With that being
said, I know it’s just a matter of time before I get my turn to take
it to the next level as well.

CS:what do you think about the game today of producing music, how do
you feel about it:

MG: Today is a lot more different then when I started about 6 years
ago. There’s so many resources available to aspiring producers now,
thanks to the internet. If you have the time and patience to study and
figure out programs, then anyone can really get good at producing.
With that being said, it makes the market very saturated. Today the
cream definitely needs to rise to the top. There’s guys who download
fruity loops today, and are selling beats tomorrow. Because of that
dynamic, anyone aspiring to be noticed or great, has to do something
different. It’s just not about making beats any more, or being “good”
for that matter. You really have to work hard on your craft, your
business sense, your market and promoitons, and relationships with
people. Like anything else, but more so with producing since half of
the people you’re competing with are using the same exact resources
and methods as you.

CS:thats what it is fam, before we go is there any body you wanna shout
out and how can the poeple get ahold of you if they wanna buy any of
your music?

MG: I just wanna give a shot out to anyone who’s supported me through
the years (even back to when i went by Dskillz) and the reader who
finds out who I am for the first time by reading this article and
becomes a new fan today. I’ll continue to do my best and hopefully
inspire others to make their dreams blend. I’m on myspace, soundclick,
facebook, everywhere.

CS:i wanna thank you wants again for linking up with Dreamsblend.com

mg:  Thanks to dreamsblend.com for having me.

interview DJ spotlight:DJ-waistline

by CS on May.29, 2009, under Upcoming New Artists

dj-waist-line

CS:Where are you from, let everyone no who you are,

I was Born in the Bronx NY in Soundview Projects until i was 7 then moved to South Ozone Queens. Big up 141 st & Foch blvd!! I also spent some time in West Palm Beach Florida where i started thinking about becoming a DJ & picked up the name Waistline.

CS:how was it growing up?

I lived a very sheltered, confused life. I grew up in the church (as most people do) with my single mom and pop in & out my life. My worked hard to provide for me and my lil’ brother (Julius) for a min by herself. We grew up in not the best neighbor hood but she kept us away from the crap (cause 4 the most part i was stuck in the house) but she also raised me to be a gentleman. I had a cool teenage aunt that i use to love kicking it with playing video games and listening to music. we always pick up the cassette tapes from the corner store and went home to record all the new tracks that came on Hot97. ( and y’all act like you never done that! lol) Loved putting on those head phones and listen to the mix tape i made at night when i was alone. For the longest i thought i wanted to become a R&B singer, tried that but didn’t have much support with that, then after that it was dancing. HipHop, Ballet, and my favorite, Dancehall! I had alot of fun with that, got alot of attention (which i love) and was getting recognized but wasn’t enough.
What made me become a dj?… well as i said i loved to dance and going to all these clubs loved the music but wished the DJ would play this song, or that song, add alil Dancehall 2 that…That’s wat really started it. Then 1 Christmas my girlfriend at the time gave me 2 turntables. I started to learn the basics of DJ’in, then came up on the DJ software and started having alot of fun and enjoyed playing a mix for people. I seen that they like it so i did Lil house parties and local spots. and that’s when i started throwing out my name DJ Waistline. I picked that name for a couple of reason, i loved the Dancehall reggae scene and when you see the girls moving what do they do? Move their waistline, & another reason i think that when u hear my mix i try to keep the energy up until the very end and keep all ya’ll moving your wat? Waistline!

CS:what current music do you have out ?or currently producing?

I made a couple of mix tapes that i gave out for free but the are all lost, cause my laptop been thru alot, and pop a whole bottle of Champagne in it :< But I just made my official mix tape that will be hitting the streets 5-29-09. Its called In Search Of Fame Vol.1. After that imma make a Reggae CD Juggling many of
the latest and hottest Dancehall Rhythms ms and MASH dat one up for all mi yard people dem! Then y’all will see why mi a pic da name Waistline foreal!

CS:what your stlye of dj’n

My style is gonna be my own. I tried listening 2 Wat other DJ do and take bits and pieces and it help but if you ain’t making money then your doin something wrong right? Yeah playing wat people like and since now I’m on the west coast, i gotta do it the Cali way, but u already know where I’m from. NEW YORK kid! so its gonna come out with a Caribbean Flavor cause of my background, the west Indies! so really cause of all of that i play towards all the boys and girls, young, old, black & white. Lets all come together and wil’ out!!!

CS what are some of your other intrest besides dj’n do you play sports or any thing!lol

LMAO you already know I’m not into sports! Didn’t watch it, heck i don’t even know who play. IDK i never was into watch sports, now playing is a different story i love playing Baseball and alil Football.

CS:were can anybody see yo dj?

Right now y’all can catch me at the Alley in Downtown Carlsbad CA every weds & Fri & Sat in Oceanside CA at The Beach Club keeping you movin!

CS:how can the people out there get ahold of you:

yeah Link up on myspace at www.myspace.com/vybz69kartel and you can email me at www.djwaistline@gmail.com.

CS:Is there any thing you wanna tell the people:

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to show the listeners and the dancers that’s heard me play what Waistline is all about, and i just want to shout out to all my people back on the East Coast From NY 2 PA 2 FL then back 2 NY again. Joshua, David, Steve, Giselle, G, Christian (& I’m trying to bring that kid over here to Cali he’s mad on the table) The Future Starz Int. Link up! (Lets bring that NY Swag to my new family here in Cali) My Boy J -George King clothing wear (look out for that soon) LiL D (uptown baby!) Lovey-my baby girl on the way!!!! introducing CL Cornell

by CS on May.29, 2009, under Upcoming New Artists

CL Cornell

CL Cornell

As we sit on the year 2009 more rappers from the west coast are coming out the pocket CL Cornell young up coming artist from L.A talks about his inspiring rap career and trying to pave his way into the game!

CS:tell us about your self?

CL Cornell: This is CL Cornell. Real west coast spitter. This rap music is the main thing is some I do from madden and Cali chicks. I listen to the greatest like Lloyd banks, Biggie, Eminem, Ice cube, Jay Rock, G. Malone, and anyone else who is killing it.

CS.how would you describe your sound of music?

CL Cornell: I don’t follow trends at all. I’m not just talking about the dancing rapper trend that is famous right now, but also the trend of other west coast rappers. The stereotype of a Cali MC is to talk about low-riders, fuck the LAPD, and how hard their lives were.  My style is unpredictable. You can’t hear a beat and go, “oh that’s a CL Cornell style beat”, because you never know I might be down for. If the beat is knocking then I’m going to do me. Make every track a potential hit.

CS:how was to growing up in Los Angeles in the scene out there?

CL Cornell: Aww man everyday is different out here. You don’t know what is gone happen to anyone in LA. You see dice games and those could end up in fights, then you could be walking down the street and see two kids slap boxing, and then a nigga taking a brick to bust the windows out a car for the radio. I mean shit happens. People watch t.v. and think that LA is cool because they favorite celebrities live here. That’s true but if you end up in the wrong parts then you could get hurt. They are sections of people to hang out with for almost anything and I was in the rapping circle even when I was scared of spitting with the big homies. Pacific Division was in the same group circle as me even when out in Palmdale. It’s good to do music in Cali because we have a little bit of every thing. Which meaning that, like me a rapper, I could hear people from LA spit fast, spit slow, spit calm, spit hype. Then you get to hear how they perfected it and make your choice of style you want.

CS:how many albums have you done?and what are you working on currently right now?

CL Cornell: I have been rapping since I was 4 years old so I can’t tell you exactly how many albums I have done. I just wraped up a mixtape called “Last One In” which is dope straight heat on every verse. I’m working on a few songs right now, so when I get in with a deal I could drop some new ill tracks.  Actually I Been Waiting is one of those tracks that ain’t on the mixtape but it is sick.

CS:favorite song(most buzz)whats going on with that right know?

CL Cornell: The song “Still Doing It” is the song that got me good a response on Youtube. I actually made that song for the A&R’s at Interscope, which they were feeling, and that is the one that I was pushing on the site as my demo track. I got a little bit of everything on it, punch lines, slogans, and stuff. I was trying for you to get the full CL feel on that track.

CS:what do you think about the game today?

CL Cornell: It’s alright. We still got real rappers doing they thing, but they are getting over shadowed by these dancing rappers. It would be cool if they still paid attention to the people who actually put timing in they rhyming instead of those who put timing in they steps. But it is what it is I ain’t hating on them for doing what they want to do.

CS:once well we wanna thank you CL Cornell again thanks for linking up with Dreamsblend.com

go to new music to check some of his recent ,material -C.S

Mitchelle.n.ess:man, blood sweat  and tears is what it seems, my first label is gdot which was started in the mid 90 s with my late friend jason”jstreet”weever, the idea was to support talented urban youth regardless of what their interest were, and fix your face entertainment is simple i ve noticed whenever the do a show theres always a hater with a screw face, that where i got fix your face ent. which is meant to bring artists from all genres together in a unfair industry. both are like me, struggling to make it.
