by on Jul.01, 2010, under Upcoming New Artists

KK: Tell us a lil ‘bout yourself & where you grew up at?
YR:  I was born and raised in Southeast San Diego my dad was in the group Satisfaction as a singer so i been around music since birth for its in my blood to do music so I’ve been stickin’ to it for awhile now. i pretty much grew up the same as every low income child born in the 80′s so I don’t want to sound like a broken record I just let my music tell the way my situations were a lot different and more strickt in Southeast

KK: How would you describe your sound of music & what makes you different then anyone else in this game?
YR:  I feel as if I’m more universal then your average rapper and my music is art I paint a picture when I freestyle or write so the listener can feel me a lot more because I give my all in my verses plus I come from music I don’t rap for the new fad and i stand out on everything I do

KK: Listenin’ to your musik you refer to yourself as The Southeast General, how did you get that title?

YR: See a lot of people think of it on a military standard but it come from me representing everything u can think of so what i say is in general like the general store u can come and buy a variety of shit because I done it all even the square shit these niggas is scared to admit u gone hear it from me because I’m a give my all in my lyrics.

KK: What are you working on currently right now? Were can your supporters cop your musik?

YR: Right now I’m on my 2nd unreleased studio album and still working on more but I just dropped the Set Pigskin Report 2 this summer and a 2years ago I released Set Pigskin Report 1 2003 I released the Errithame 2000 i released Escape From The Haters only pressing 300 copies and if u want to handcuff my cds just hit youngreef.com and get all your info.

KK: Favorite track (with the most buzz)? What’s going on with that right know?
YR: Man that’s so hard I got fans from so many different backgrounds in every aspect tho so I probably can say all of them without being funny I been pushin this SPR2 and the response has been  crazy so I cant call it

KK: Who are some of your favorite artists you have worked with? Anyone you would like to work wit in the future?
YR: My favorite of all is Baby E.B. he so far underground but just the best shit I ever heard and I listen to a lot of music, Mitchy Slick, Don Diego, Lee Bo, Cryziz, Black Resume, & Burty Burt are all my favorite artist i worked with but artyist i would like to work with is C-Bo, Mack 10, Redman, Devin the Dude, Ray J, Eminem, The Jacka, & Big Snoop Dogg last but not least

KK: I recently heard Slang Studios (shoutout to AntBeats) was burnt down, How are ya’ll dealin’ wit that…what’s the next step?

YR: Man that wasn’t even a set back to me like I said before I got 2 albums ready and over 30 loose verses with all original material so I cant be stopped I’m in my own category.

KK: This is a tough industry, what keeps you motivated to stay wit it?
YR:  It’s in my blood I couldn’t stop if I wanted to they can band music in the future and im a still b the last hope keppin it alive for those curious souls

KK: How do you feel ‘bout the musik industry today & where the Westcoast is goin’ wit it?
YR:  The industry today is good people are being more creative and taking chances with their records but I just wish it was more serious artist that care about the art instead of the 15 minutes of  fame, keep goin!!! don’t get a few 100,000 and give up because I’m a fan waitin for the follow up and that’s why Hip Hop is disappointed niggas is like Jordan for the Wizards instead of Jordan for the Bulls why even try and come back with some weak game and that’s why the Westcoast is in its position now niggas b hot off 1 song get a little dough and put more time in they newly found pimp game then they do they music, its only 1 Suga Free  or Mac Dre, but I love it makes it easier for real 1′s like me

KK: What advice can you offer to aspiring rappers?

YR: support Young Reef

KK: We wanna thank you Young Reef for linkin’ up wit Dreamsblend.com! Any shout outs?

YR: Yeah dat, youngreef.com, One Man Platoon, Antbeats, Dj Birdy Bird, Mitchy Slick, No Looking Back, & my fans
